Manganese Ore Processing Line

Manganese ore beneficiation is a crucial step in manganese ore processing, applicable to rhodochrosite, pyrolusite, and diaspore. After separation and purification, manganese concentrate with a grade of 50%–70% can be obtained, suitable for use in the metallurgical and chemical industries, providing raw materials for manganese product manufacturing.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

  • 01
    Crushing and Screening
    The large-sized manganese ore is uniformly fed into a jaw crusher for primary crushing via a vibrating feeder. The primary crushed product is classified by a vibrating screen; the qualified material is conveyed by belt to a single-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher for secondary crushing. The secondary crushed ore is then conveyed to a multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher for tertiary crushing, producing feed material that meets the particle size requirements for dry pre-concentration.

    Dry Pre-concentration
    The tertiary crushed manganese ore is fed into a permanent magnetic drum separator for primary pre-concentration. The primary concentrate is sent to the grinding circuit, while the primary tailings are conveyed to a high-intensity permanent magnetic roll separator for secondary dry separation. The secondary tailings are discarded as waste, and the secondary dry concentrate is merged into the grinding system.

    Closed-circuit Grinding and Classification
    The mixed dry concentrate is evenly fed into a primary mill for grinding. The ground slurry is pumped to a hydrocyclone for coarse particle classification. The fine particle overflow is directed to the wet beneficiation stage, while the coarse particle underflow is sent to a secondary mill for regrinding. The secondary ground product is then pumped back to the hydrocyclone or a high-frequency vibrating screen. The qualified fine overflow enters the subsequent beneficiation stage, forming a closed-circuit grinding system.

    Wet Magnetic Separation and Dewatering
    The qualified fine manganese slurry is first processed by a wet permanent magnetic separator to remove mechanical iron, and then passes through a vibrating safety screen to remove debris and prevent equipment blockage. The purified slurry enters a primary high-gradient ring magnetic separator for high-intensity magnetic separation. The main manganese concentrate slurry is pumped to a thickener. The tailings from this stage are fed into a secondary high-gradient ring magnetic separator for scavenging, and the scavenged concentrate is also merged into the concentrate thickener. The thickened concentrate slurry is sent to a disc vacuum filter for deep dewatering, and the dried manganese concentrate is conveyed to the finished product silo. The final tailings from both stages of magnetic separation are discharged into the tailings thickener. After solid-liquid separation by a disc filter, the dry tailings are conveyed to the tailings storage yard for disposal.
