Sand Dryer

The mining single-drum sand dryer is a horizontal rotary drying equipment. The cylinder is installed at an incline and supported by riding rings for operation. It is equipped with internal lifting flights, a transmission system, sealing devices, a hot air furnace, and a dust collection system. The dryer can be powered by various heat sources and operates in either co-current or counter-current flow modes. By combining the tumbling and scattering of materials with hot air convection, the equipment achieves efficient dehydration, boasting high thermal efficiency and excellent drying performance.

This equipment is widely used in industries such as mineral processing, building materials, metallurgy, and chemical engineering. It is capable of drying various ores (e.g., quartz sand, iron powder), building material feedstocks, chemical materials, as well as coal slime and biomass. Ultimately, it facilitates the deep processing of materials and promotes resource recycling and reuse.

Feeding System: Wet materials are transported to a hopper via a belt conveyor or a bucket elevator. They are then fed into the feeding pipe through a feeder and enter the feed end of the dryer. The feeding pipe is designed with a slope greater than the natural angle of repose of the materials, ensuring a smooth flow into the dryer.

Drum Operation & Flow Modes: The dryer consists of a slightly inclined rotating drum. Materials are fed from the higher end. The heat carrier (hot air) typically enters from the lower end, flowing in a counter-current direction against the materials. Alternatively, a co-current flow mode, where the heat carrier and materials enter the drum from the same end, can also be utilized.

Internal Lifting & Drying Mechanism: Lifting flights (copy boards) are installed on the inner wall of the drum. As the drum rotates, these flights lift and shower the materials, significantly increasing the contact surface area between the materials and the hot airflow. This greatly enhances the drying rate and promotes the forward movement of the materials.

Discharge: The dried materials are discharged through the outlet, fall onto a belt conveyor, and are then transported to the finished product silo.
