Wet Drum Permanent Magnetic Separator

Wet Drum Permanent Magnetic Separator is a highly efficient magnetic separation  featuring mature technology and extensive application. It is widely used in mineral processing plants, coal preparation plants, and other industrial facilities.This equipment is designed for wet separation of fine-grained strongly magnetic minerals in a weak magnetic field. It is also effective for removing strongly magnetic impurities from non-magnetic minerals. Furthermore, it plays a vital role in medium recovery and environmental protection applications.

This equipment is suitable for the roughing, cleaning, and scavenging of materials such as magnetite, pyrrhotite, maghemite, titanomagnetite, and roasted ore. It is also widely used for the preliminary iron removal and purification of non-metallic minerals, including silica sand, feldspar, and kaolin.

3.Dual Fixation Mechanism: Magnetic blocks are secured to the magnetic yoke using a dual-protection method combining bolts and adhesive. Additionally, the magnetic system surface is covered with a stainless steel band, guaranteeing that the magnetic blocks will never detach.

4.Stable Transmission: Adopts a through-shaft chain and gear transmission structure. This design ensures reasonable stress distribution on transmission components, resulting in smooth operation and an extended service life.

5.Flexible Tank Design: Three tank configurations—co-current, counter-current, and semi-counter-current—are available to suit different workflows and ore properties. The tank utilizes hydrodynamic design principles with targeted optimization for each separation zone, ensuring superior separation efficiency.

The mineral slurry (a mixture of ore particles and water) is first fed into the separation tank. Inside the tank, a slowly rotating drum—containing a fixed magnetic system—adsorbs the magnetic mineral particles onto its surface. These particles are then lifted out of the slurry level as the drum rotates. Meanwhile, non-magnetic (or weakly magnetic) particles are unaffected by the magnetic force and flow directly through the bottom or tail end of the tank into the non-magnetic discharge hopper.When the magnetic particles adsorbed on the drum surface rotate out of the magnetic field zone (typically reaching the top of the drum or the discharge area), they are released from the drum by gravity and the scouring action of flushing water. They then fall into the magnetic concentrate hopper, thereby achieving the complete separation of magnetic and non-magnetic materials.
