Sudan Large Silica Sand Processing Plant
The client's raw ore was natural sand with a mud content of 5-10%, fine sand content of 3-5%, and a high weed content.
The large-scale silica sand processing plant in Sudan was an EPC+O project undertaken by Guote. Guote oversaw all aspects of the project, from design and research, complete equipment manufacturing and procurement, commissioning, and delivery to mine management and operations.
GUOTE SOLUTION
-
1
Scrubbing and Desludging: The material is fed via a belt feeder (with a weighing device) to a vibrating screen for screening. The screened material then enters a spiral ore washer for initial washing and desludging. After pre-washing, the material enters a scrubbing machine for secondary scrubbing. The scrubbed slurry is pumped into the desludging hopper on the grading tower to separate sand, mud, and impurities, reducing the mud content of the raw ore and balancing the slurry.
-
2
Screening and Classification: The desludging material enters a drum screen, where two stages of drum screening separate the coarse product below 26 mesh. The coarse product above 26 mesh is then deposited in the coarse sand yard. During the grading and screening process, the fine product below 26 mesh enters a thickening hopper and a hydraulic classifier, which separates the fine product below 140 mesh (0.1 mm).

3
Magnetic Separation and Dewatering: The material exiting the drum screen and hydraulic classifier is of acceptable particle size. This acceptable particle size enters the magnetic separation stage. A plate magnetic separator with a magnetic field strength of 10,000-12,000 GS thoroughly removes all iron impurities and some weakly magnetic iron. Finally, qualified material is dewatered by a dewatering screen before entering the stockpile shed. Mining wastewater generated throughout the entire production line is transported through a concentrator to a concentrating tank for purification and recycling.
PROJECT RESULT
After installation and commissioning, the equipment has been operating stably and with reliable quality. The project was completed in accordance with international design, manufacturing, and construction standards. Guote protected investor profits and minimized investment, primarily to improve efficiency. At the same time, it also focused on operator health and safety, emphasizing environmental harmony, resource conservation and recycling, efficient energy conservation through both single-unit and clustered systems, and striving to achieve efficient concentrate recovery throughout various operations and the entire process.
